Did you say 'An Isolated Case'?

Since the beginning of the events of Sidi Bouzid on December 17th,2010, the Tunisian authorities as well as the official media are insisting on the use of words like:  riots , isolated case, political manipulation etc...

They worked on hiding the truth and accusing opposition and foreign media of  lying and trying to shake Tunisia's stability. They never tried to face the truth and to find efficient solutions. Again,  authorities used violence in different areas of the country causing deaths and serious injuries for demonstrators.

Now, more than 20 days elapsed since the beginning of the events , things did not improve at all. Authorities are using violence as an answer to citizens' demand of their basic rights. They are also working on stifling and shutting  every free voice in a trial to hide and veil truth. They censored many websites and blocked the upload of videos on Facebook . Anonymous a group of hacker-activists offered to help Tunisian protestors and cyber activists and launched  operation Tunisia  , a hacking operation, which started on January 2nd, 2011 and  targeting the Tunisian government websites. The operation is on the one hand an answer to the censorship of Wikileaks and any news source publishing or referencing leaked cables that referenced Tunisia including : Tunileaks and on the other hand a support to Tunisian cyberactivists surrounded by internet police.

The police internet answer has been the hacking of the e-mails accounts , Facebook pages and profiles and blogs of some Tunisian activists     . Tunisian netizens are now talking about a cyber-war.

On the ground, things were not different as some students expressed their anger and joined the protest movement on January 3rd, 2011by organizing demonstrations in different regions of Tunisia. Lawyers protested again outside Tunis courthouse and violent clashes started between security forces in Tala , in the Governorate of Kasserine. Again,police officers used tear gas and live ammunition . They also raided houses and arrested people...

Well , I can understand ... No I can't understand that some stupid person has hacked my  e-mail then, my Facebook account. This stupid person has also deleted some pages in which I am an administrator. Pages like that of 7ellblog ( launch a blog) which has been largely promoted  even by official media , the page of the Tunisian singer Amel Mathlouthi , Reading Books is Better than Staring at others ( yes they hate reading and culture uin my country) , the Tunisian blogosphere , and may be  a page against censorship ' la censure nuit à l 'image de mon pays' ( I don't have the confirmation yet) and many other pages were deleted.

What happened is so shameful because the internet police is again confirming its stupidity and useless stubbornness . Sofiene Chourabi and Azyz Amami are experiencing the same problem now. They have been hacked.

We have experiencing censorship for more than one year now, we are deprived of our basic right to express ourselves freely. Instead of enjoying a  lift of the censorship on our censored websites , we are facing a new serious problem. Our privacy is not respected. The act of hacking is an act of rape which we are not accepting and which we are going to fight.

Today, my e-mail account and  my Facebook account were hacked. My page Tunisia girl disappeared. But unless  they hack me , I 'll keep on writing , writing , and writing....

What Happened is not an Isolated Case !

 I was supposed to make  the  updates of the events of Sidi Bouzid  but I changed my mind after a special encounter. Some friends, who lately noticed my tiredness,  invited me to a small  party in their house. After a long hesitation , I decided to take part in it.What happened during the party was not of interest to me. But when I was leaving the house my host told me a story that his gardener recounted to him few days ago. I decided to meet the latter  to  know about the details.

My host introduced me to the gardener. He welcomed me warmly and started telling me the story. He explained that he is from 'Jbal Dinar', a small village that is far about 40km from 'Ain Drahem'  in  the North West of Tunisia  He told me about some incidents which happened in his village. Indeed, few weeks ago, a cold wave hit Tunisia and it snowed  heavily in some areas of the country, including Ain Drahem' and its surroundings. The area being a remote one lacks facilities. People leaving there , are generally poor people due to the scarcity of resources and the absence of job opportunities. Therefore, they could not face this cold wave. Authorities promised to help them. The day aids were provided, the TV was there to record and preserve this  historic moment! According to my witness: people were handed some old wool blankets and some food. When  the TV journalists left, the local authorities took the aids back !!!

My interlocutor told me about women giving birth to their children on their way  to hospital for the absence of means of transport and about students forced to skip classes for more than a week when it is raining or snowing ...

My only question is : where is the solidarity fund 26-26?

It urges the government to refrain from the unnecessary use of force against peaceful protesters and to respect the fundamental rights of its people, including the right to freely express dissenting opinions.

Ils protestent sans discontinuer pour dénoncer ce qui s'est passé à Sidi Bouzid et contre la situation sociale en Tunisie. Voilà pourquoi le gouvernement a décidé de les ‘punir’. Il n'est pas de jour sans qu'émergent sur les sites de réseaux sociaux des nouvelles d'enlèvement, d'arrestation ou d'agression d'avocats.
